This fella, Ramit Sethi from Stanford is teaching his readers how to save $1000 in 30 days. For me obviously, this guy has to be considerably financially well-off to have a site called iwillteachyoutoberich.com, or I really don’t know if his tips are good but it doesn’t hurt to follow them.
The truth is, I’m in a lot of debt. I owe my parents money (they expect me to pay off my university fees in due time, which, is a story for another time), I have a potential incoming debt for the repairs on my Macbook Pro, I have a client who’s refusing to pay me my money and I don’t have very much in my bank. And the truth is, I’m not driven to be rich or have a lot of money. My lifestyle just requires me to have a steady income, and this doesn’t mean that I spend a lot. And since I don’t have very much blogging material lately cos of the examinations, I’ll just follow up on this program.
For starters, my total income each month doesn’t even hit half a thousand dollars. So to save $1000 in 30 days is almost ridiculously good. In fact for me, it should be called “how to make $1000 in 30 days”.
So Ramit is going to give tips of his own for the next 15 days (which already started 01/11/08), and his readers will submit tips on the last 15 days. And what I’ll do is, for every other day, I will round up those tips and make them applicable for the typical Australian University student (because we don’t call them ‘college’ like in the US, and another 1001 differences).
